Posted on April 1, 2020
Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has canceled the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, scheduled for July 3-8 in Portland, Oregon.VA made this decision out of an abundance of caution for the health, safety and well-being of vulnerable populations like older Veterans and those with underlying medical conditions, as identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.VA and Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), co-presenter for the National Veterans Wheelchair Games, look forward to serving participants at the 2021 games in New York. Plans are in place to bring the event back to Portland at a future date.We want to thank each of you for all of your tremendous hard work and your tireless efforts in planning and preparing for Portland. We wish each of you the very best over the next year, and we look forward to seeing you next year in New York. Please take care of yourself and your families. For questions or concerns, please contact Dave Tostenrude (206) 445-3519 or Jen Purser (804) 398-0446.
